পঞ্চগড়ে নদীতে গোসল করতে গিয়ে এসএসসি পরীক্ষার্থী ও ডোবার পানিতে পড়ে শিশুর মৃত্যু

Two people, including an SSC examinee and a one-and-a-half-year-old child, died after falling into a pond near their home while bathing in the Talma River in Sadar Upazila of Panchagarh.

 Two incidents occurred on Monday afternoon in the Sanyasi Para area of ​​Panchagarh Sadar Union of the upazila and the Tular Danga area of ​​Panchagarh Municipality. 

The deceased were identified as SSC examinee Tausif Al Mahmud (16), son of Abdur Rahim of Mohammadpur area of ​​Dhaka district, and Minhaj Islam (18 months), son of Md. Masum of Tulardanga area of ​​Panchagarh municipality. Tausif had just completed his SSC examination from Faizur Rahman Ideal Institute of Mohammadpur area. 

Later, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family members after completing the legal process. Separate accidental death (UD) cases have been filed at the police station in both the incidents.

Quoting the family members of the deceased, Panchagarh Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Al Imran Khan said, Shafiqul Islam, a resident of the four and a half mile area of ​​Panchagarh Sadar Union in Panchagarh Sadar Upazila, died in Dhaka on the night of Eid-ul-Adha. Later, family members including Tausif came to Panchagarh from Dhaka with Nana\'s body. The body was buried at the local cemetery yesterday, Sunday afternoon. On Monday afternoon, Tausif went to bathe with his elder brother and relatives in the Talma River in the Sanyasi Para area, some distance from Nana\'s house. At one stage of bathing, he fell into a deep hole made by digging sand and stones in the river. Later, he was rescued and taken to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty at the emergency department declared him dead.

Meanwhile, mother Maleka Begum was doing housework while letting her son Minhaj play in the yard of her house in the Tulardanga area of ​​Panchagarh Municipality. Minhaj went out of the house during the game. At one point, while walking along the bank of a pond near the house, he accidentally fell. Later, the family members started searching for him after not seeing him for a long time. Later, they saw him floating in the pond and took him to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, where he was declared dead. 

Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Hill confirmed the death of two people, including an SSC examinee and a child, after they fell into the water of the Zaman River while bathing.
