During the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, Panchagarh Railway Station has transformed into an entertainment center.
The entire station area has been filled with a huge crowd of visitors since the afternoon of Monday (June 9), the third day of Eid. Such a crowd has been seen since the day of Eid.
It is learnt that due to the scarcity of recreational places in Panchagarh city, people are flocking to this station area during the Eid holidays. A temporary play area and various food stalls have been set up for the children, which has become a source of great joy for the little ones.
Families, friends, or singles, people from all walks of life are flocking to the station. Some are taking selfies, some are capturing moments with their families on their mobile phones. There is a cheerful and festive atmosphere all around.
Raisa Moni, a visiting college student, said, "There are few places for entertainment in Panchagarh. However, the railway station area has now become a great place to walk around. Everyone is meeting, taking pictures, it can be called a gathering."
A young man named Jahangir Alam said,
"I met up with old friends here. The new infrastructure of the station is quite nice. There are also food shops nearby, a good place to spend time."
The child Rownak Jahan shouted happily,
"I rode the Nagardola! It was so much fun! The crowd here increases in the evening."
Although there are limited places for people to visit in or around Panchagarh city, people have also visited the Karatoya riverbank in Tulardanga, the riverbank adjacent to the Mirgarh BGB camp in Dhakmara Union, and the Himalayan Recreation Park in Talmar on the occasion of Eid.
"Since the crowd increases during Eid, the administration and law enforcement agencies are on constant vigil to ensure the safety of visitors," said Deputy Commissioner Sabet Ali.
After modernization, Panchagarh Railway Station is now not only a destination for train passengers, but also a new destination for entertainment for the common people. During Eid, this station is like a festival ground, where the city's people gather.
